For our next milestone, I thought I’d present something a little different – namely our very first proper podcast.
In any customer–facing industry, it is a frequently–mentioned fact that the general public make the staff’s lives more difficult, mainly through not being able to think for themselves. It is no different in catering or hospitality. Even John Cleese said that his famed, crazed hotelier character Basil Fawlty would be able to ‘run a first–rate hotel if he didn’t have all the guests getting in the way’.
The following podcast, featuring three–year hotel receptionist Ellie Wicks (see pictured) explores the topic of how unintelligent customers become when they enter a hotel or restaurant, and how truly dependent they are on the staff.
