Pairing wines with meat takes more skill than you may believe. It isn’t just a case of any old red wine can go with a steak and any old white plonk pairs well with chicken. Quite the opposite. It can be specific even down to the other ingredients in the dish.

However, if I were to go over all the possibilities of wine pairings for meat, this article would be far too long even by my standards. So, as with the last two parts of this series, I have put together a little chart off the back of considerable research from the opinions of several noted experts. This should give you a few ideas if you’re stumped for what to order with your meat dish. Or if you just want to look like a proper foodie without really trying…

N.B. Grenache is listed under White Wine in this list as we mean to recommend the Rosé variety.
